This program was developed out of the idea that not every student is college-bound, for any variety of reasons, but that shouldn't stop them from believing they can be successful. We want to help put students in the driver's seat of their career path by introducing them to entrepreneurship.
YEP is a way for students to engage in entrepreneurship activities, explore potential career paths, and discover the tools needed to own and operate a successful business. This program will also give students an opportunity to learn skills and knowledge that are transferable anywhere: college, workforce or business ownership.
Example activities include:
YEP is a community-based program. We will work with your local chamber, department of economic development, schools, government officials, administrators, business owners and more to ensure students have access to local influencers and community leaders. We will look to these community leaders to partner with the program to enhance the overall experiential learning opportunities given to the students and deepen their level of confidence and familiarity with their own local area.
We also encourage parent participation.
Panels of students and local professionals explore examples and advice on how to be a leader in the local business community.
